Sunset at the Washington Monument

After the Washington Monument reopened in 2000 after renovation, we waited in line forever to go up in the elevator and look out in all directions. By the time we got back down, it was late in the afternoon. I liked the way the sun was low in the sky, gleaming off the benches, and the streetlights had already come on. So I took a picture.
