With staffers walking an average of 55 miles each, Sen. George Voinovich, R-Ohio, is on pace to win congressional bragging rights this month in a walking competition.
Wearing pedometers that count every step, Voinovich and his aides are going out of their way to add more exercise to their daily routines.
For the senator that means skipping the subway that speeds between office buildings and the capitol and walking six flights of stairs to get to and from his Washington office. For staff, it's a constant game of chase as aides in high heals try to keep up with "the Voin," as they call their boss.
