WASHINGTON – Rep. Ginny Brown-Waite said today that her husband, Harvey, has been diagnosed with cancer, and is to undergo treatment.
“As anyone who has been through serious medical issues with loved ones knows, I plan on spending as much time as necessary to care for my husband,” said the Brooksville Republican, in a statement.
She said that is why she has been absent from Congress this week, something his doctor advised.
“Harvey and I appreciate the kind words and prayers from our friends and loved ones, but at this time we would ask for some privacy in dealing with his medical problems,” she said.
“I plan on returning to Washington, D.C. as soon as we know more about Harvey’s prognosis, and both of us look forward to the upcoming campaign for the 5th District House seat this fall.”
