WASHINGTON – Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean says he and Florida’s Democratic members of congress are working “to do everything we can” to make sure Florida delegates will be seated at the party’s nominating convention in Denver this summer.
“And we believe we will seat the delegation from Florida,” said Dean.
So convinced that a resolution can be worked out, Dean said hotel reservations for the Florida delegates have been made, though at one point he joked, “in Denver, as far as I know.”

Dean made his comments whil appearing outside party headquarters here today after a closed=door meeting with Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson, Florida Democratic Chair Karen Thurman, and the state’s congressional Democrats.
Few details of any specific plan to resolve the stand-off were discussed. Dean and Rep. Alcee Hastings of Miramar said there still is a lot of work to be done, and that it is critical that both the campaigns of Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton sign on to any agreement.
But optimism was the message of the day.
“We have hotel rooms and we are very excited about it,” said Thurman.
Nelson had no immediate comment.
