PROVIDENCE -- Thirteen candidates have qualified for Rhode Island's presidential primary ballot.
Secretary of State A. Ralph Mollis announced Thursday that four Democrats and nine Republicans will appear on the ballot when Rhode Islanders head to the polls on March 4.
The four Democrats are:
Hillary Clinton
Barack Obama
John Edwards
Dennis Kucinich
The nine Republicans are:
Hugh Cort
Rudy Giuliani
Mike Huckabee
Duncan Hunter
Alan Keyes
John McCain
Ron Paul
Mitt Romney
Fred Thompson
Candidates needed to submit signatures from at least 1,000 eligible voters to qualify.
Thursday was the deadline for the secretary of state's office to certify the signatures.
A public lottery on Feb. 1 will determine the order in which the candidates' names will appear on the ballot.
