Inauguration closures announced

Wed, January 07, 2009 - 4:41 PM

If you’re thinking about driving anywhere in downtown Washington the day of and the days leading up to the Inauguration, you’re going to want to seriously reconsider.

Law enforcement agencies overseeing the event’s security released a transportation plan today that provides outlines for closures, restrictions and entry points for vehicles and pedestrians alike.

You can find their press releases here and here. The second link has a map.

But seriously, folks. If you plan on driving into Washington, the day of the Inauguration, please don’t.

Washington at rush hour is bad enough and this could get to something beyond road rage.
