Chance of SC’s Spratt Leaving House Shrinks

Wed, November 19, 2008 - 1:50 PM

It’s looking increasingly likely that Rep. John Spratt, D-S.C., will remain in the House. Spratt, who chairs the House budget committee, was rumored to be under consideration to head the White House Office of Management and Budget in the Obama administration.

Most major news outlets, citing anonymous sources, are reporting today that Obama has settled on Peter Orszag, director of the Congressional Budget Office, for that slot. The transition team has not made a formal announcement on the decision.
