Virginia’s Eric Cantor is one of a handful of Republicans headed to Denver next week to try to steal some thunder from the four-day Democratic convention being held there.
Cantor is scheduled to appear Tuesday at a news conference with former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, a Cantor spokeswoman said.
Cantor, once considered as a potential running mate for John McCain, has been a leading surrogate for the Republican presidential candidate, talking about energy and economic policy on a host of national media platforms.
Other notable Republicans, including Rudy Giuliani, will also try to detract attention from the DNC, according to the
Wall Street Journal.
