Palin says likes to answers question without "the filter of the mainstream media."

Quotes Ronald Reagan on freedom, and says only one man in this race has fought for freedom -- McCain.

Biden says this is the most important election of our lifetimes. His theme, if you like what you've received over the last eight years, you're going to get more of it under McCain. Obama-Biden will bring change.

In the end, Palin may not have won the debate -- and she avoided or evaded some answers on bankrupcty -- but she did what she needed to do. She kept her head above water, without any major gaffes and connected with ordinary people.

For his part, Biden may have lost people with some of his policy-wonk talk, but clearly showed superior knowledge and debating skills and was restrained in going after Palin.
