I would call it a draw between the two. While McCain seemed more at ease with the style of the debate, Obama seemed to stay on message better.
I think they both came away having appealed to their core audiences. But I’m not sure either brought anything new to the table beyond their core arguments that have resonated throughout the campaign.
What I am surprised and impressed by is that it didn’t get as nasty as I thought it would. No mention of Keating 5 or William Ayers.
