Washington Bureau Shutters

Media General’s Washington, D.C., bureau closed March 27 after 30 years of providing award-winning journalism around local, regional and national issues that impact communities where Media General operates newspapers, television stations and Web sites.

Created in 1979, the bureau has written about national and international affairs, the White House and Congress, the military, education and other issues of daily life important to all. In 2008, the bureau reorganized into a multimedia team to take a Web-first approach to reporting and launched mgwashington.com with sections for each of the 10 states in which Media General operates.

Here are links to local Media General Web sites by state.
